17ufosin2017: Another Project to be Dealt With

In November 2011 I attended the New England Fiber Festival and while there I bought this kit for the Steampunkery Socks. I remember how excited I was to buy the kit. It was a total impulse purchase but I loved the idea of socks with buttons! I finally cast on in April 2013. I know I reknit the ribbing and a few rows of the leg at least 10 times. I felt stupid that I could not knit a sock. I revisited the whole thing repeatedly for over a year. The last mention on the blog is May 2014 when I was at the point you see above. Things seemed ok but I was only able to knit 2-3 rows a day in complete silence. There wasn’t much peace or silence in my life in 2014 & 2015 so the sock sat on my dresser until yesterday.

Yesterday it was dealt with. I still want and love the socks. I will knit them. I will print out the revamped pattern and look through it soon to plan the next attempt.

You are making decisions right and left. šŸ¤— I’ve lost count, how many ufos have you taken care of already? 4-5 maybe? It’s only January!!!
My dresser is nearly cleaned off as well, thanks to you. I have a couple of items to deal with….will I alter them or give them away…but I’ll do that today, maybe tackle the closet as well? It’s not a mess, but there are some items that need to be tossed.

  8. Cute socks! I understand the need for knitting in silence sometimes. Sadly not everyone else has realised just how cross I get when I lose count half way through a cast on or complicated row. They usually work it out fairly quickly though…..
