This is the second of my three Loopy Academy Tag projects. The pattern is Diminishing Colors Cowl by Stephanie Shiman. Here is the link to my Ravelry project page. The yarn is Cascade Heritage in real black and silver grey.
I enjoyed knitting this pattern. It was easy and mindless so great for working on while watching Netflix or catching up on podcasts. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was sewing the folded hem at the end. I am an untrained sewist so it isn’t very professionally done.
Cascade is my go to yarn brand. They are a good value for a quality yarn. I particularly like the heritage. It’s an average fingering weight with a nice feel. It comes in lots of colors too. Of course you wouldn’t know that based on my usual color choices.
As I said yesterday, the requirement for the projects are to revisit our school days. This project represents junior high. The change in the predominance of color represents growing up. Junior high involved so many new experiences and responsibilities. It really is a bridge from elementary school to high school.
That turned out just perfect! Love the gradation between the two colors – this will be so cozy to wear next fall and winter!

I like that you chose this project for junior high. I totally get the reference! If it were my project, it would have been knit in all black!! 🙂

Now that it’s dry, how does it feel? Or are you waiting for cooler weather to find out?!?

It feels fine to my hands. I haven’t tried it on, again it’s too hot. I have worn Cascade Heritage up against my skin and it doesn’t bother me.

This is a question I nearly always ask about knitting I admire but can’t touch. I always want to know about feel and drape! Thank you –

I predict it will have a good bit of drape but because it’s long it will still give good neck coverage. As a bonus I think it’s wide enough to pull up like a hood and still keep your neck warm.

That looks really great. I might have to add it to my queue to knit.

I highly recommend it. Also look at the projects on Ravelry. There are some gorgeous ones done with a solid and a speckled yarn.
