Some days I’m pretty sure I’m a little crazy. Other days I know I am. Over the long Thankgiving weekend between cooking, serving, eating and cleaning up I was knitting and watching Netflix, a knitters best friend. I tried different ways of dividing my time: watch an episode of “The Killing”(44 episodes in total- I’ve gone to heaven! I haven’t watched them all, yet.) while knitting Milo* and then when the next episode starts switch to the Sweet Summer Shawl. This didn’t work very well. I like to stop on a specific row of each pattern so I know what I face when I pick it back up (crazy!). Next I tried just knitting a repeat of the rows. It was too much time on one project and not enough time on the other since one has an 8 row repeat and the other a 20 (crazier!). Finally I decided to just set the stop watch on my phone and knit for about 3 hours on each stopping at the end of the repeat (craziest!!). This worked beautifully. I feel like I spent plenty of time on each project and got a visible amount done. I’m pleased even if I did have to expose my brand of crazy.
*There was an incident with Milo that required ripping back the whole thing and starting again. There was cursing. I’ll spare you the details.
That sounds like a great weekend! Glad you found a way that works for you!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun working out the best (craziest?) way to work on all your WIPs. In the process, it looks like you’ve made great progress!

I’ve never had two knitting projects going at once…hmmm…maybe I’ll try just a pinch of your brand of crazy by starting my mitten project this week. If I can handle the mittens maybe I can start a very plain cardigan while finishing the Skaugum sweater. Maybe. 🙂

How do you like this Milo pattern? I really like this color you’ve chosen. I use an iPhone app called Stitch Counter; it’s free and helps me keep track of rounds and repeats well.

I like the pattern a lot. It’s really easy but I’d recommend using a dk weight yarn. The worsted I’m using is coming out bigger than the 3 months size I was going for.

I’m excited to see your comment above regarding the Milo pattern. I was going to ask the same. I’ve been eyeing it or a while and have some friends with the girl children that could use a knit in the future …
