Joann Fabric’s is having a sale so H and I went over with our 20% off everything including sale items coupon just to see what we could find. H found some dish cloth cotton and I found a few skeins of emergency sock yarn* and a 16 inch circular needle to replace the one I can’t find. It’s around here somewhere. Lovely bargains really. It was worth the trip.
*Emergency sock yarn? You do keep emergency sock yarn don’t you? It is sock yarn that can be grabbed at a moments notice when you are running out the door and must bring an uncomplicated project to have with you. It doesn’t require winding and can be knit into any pattern. Add it to your list the next time you’re yarn shopping. You’ll thank me when you need it.
I think I’m going to start referring to all my yarn purchases as “Emergency ____ yarn.” š

I want to try the Deborah Norville and Patons sock yarns. Jesse/Oocha of The Hungry Cat podcast liked them a lot.

LOL!! You just made my Friday. And gave me an excuse to go yarn shopping. You know, despite having loads of sock yarn, I did not categorize any as “emergency sock yarn” so in essence that means I have no “emergency” yarn or “emergency” stash. = shopping for “emergencies” š is next.
Have a great weekend. xx

Hilarious!
I can’t justify any ’emergency’ purchases at the moment as I’m waiting for a large parcel to arrive……

I have emergency sock yarn. It’s usually self-stripe or so highly variegated that it doesn’t look good in anything but stockinette (maybe something like Vanilla Latte or Caffe Macchiato or Hermione’s Everyday Socks). So, there’s that.
