Let’s talk about quirks. We’ve all got them. As I’ve said before I’m an observer. I prefer to sit back and watch before making any moves. This can infuriate people around me who just want to get on with it.
I have a strong belief that words matter. If I say it I mean it and I will stand by my words. This has bit me on the ass a few time. Mostly when my kids were small. Even when I’d wished I hadn’t said it I stuck by my word.
This one drives The Husband crazy. I like what I like and that prevents me from sampling new things. In my mind it is a waste to miss out on something you know you love. In his mind it means I miss out on loving something else. You’d think he’d be glad I stick with what I like if you get my drift.
I hate watching people make mistakes. Big life mistakes. It frustrates me when they’ve been warned and they just keep going. It’s worse when they complain that they didn’t know. They’re dead to me at that point. Yes I’m rigid but they were warned, did it anyway and then complained. At any point before step three I’d have compassion.
So what are your quirks? Do you drive the people in your life crazy because of them?

I can be slightly obsessive compulsive about what dishes go where in the dishwasher. This drives The Skipper crazy because I will unload all he loaded and redo the whole shebang.

We don’t have a dishwasher but I have been known to rewash glasses after my husband has washed them. He sometimes leaves a little soap and I can taste it. Yuck!

The question is, do they learn from their mistakes? If not, then I may write them off. But sometimes it takes real world consequences for people to learn hard lessons.

I’ll give people the opportunity to make the mistake but if they continue to whine about it I’m done. Particularly if they were warned ahead of time. For example, don’t drink and drive. Bad things happen because they drank and drove. They then complain about the consequences over and over. I’m done.

Mistakes may be allowed – but whining is not!! Especially when it was within your control.

I love listening to the NOAA weather radio first thing in the morning…drives my husband NUTZ!!
I dislike jaywalkers and would gladly coax them off the road with the bumper of my car. 😂

Oh, I’m a country girl; raised without crosswalks, or sidewalks, for that matter. it is natural to me to jaywalk – but I don’t do it if there is any chance of traffic having to hit the brakes, because I don’t trust them to use them – and it’s just plain rude.
