It’s been a busy day. We took the kids to lunch to celebrate H’s birthday which was last week. Now that we live in 3 locations and have different schedules planning get togethers is a challenge. Myles was so happy when N came through the door. They spent time together which was good for them both.
I’ve been giving serious thought to the fall semester of Loopy Academy and decided to skip this semester and join in in the spring. I’ve got things I want to knit and a baby sweater for soon to be born new family member. I’m looking at the next few months as an opportunity to use some stash and knit a few things I’ve been thinking about.
In that vein, above you see the Calidez vest in its second incarnation. Maybe you recognize the yarn too. It’s Rowan cork in its second attempt at becoming something. I’m doing the crew neck button front version of the pattern. Don’t you love a pattern that comes with options. This pattern has two neck options and cardigan or pullover style. Plus multiple yarn weights. It’s a very versatile pattern.
How’s your crafting going?
Finally finished weaving in the ends on my nephew’s baby blanket, and I’ll probably do a proper post about it sometime this week. I also resumed work on the Neapolitan blanket I had hibernating for the better part of a year, and I’m working on the Study Hall shawl from Knitty. The lighter colored yarn is a Red Heart Ombré in blue gradient, and the darker yarn is solid black Red Heart that I already had in the stash. I can’t wait to get to the slip stitch section.

Your top is looking great so far! So nice that you were all able to get together as a family, even though everyone is in different places 🙂

Since I lost my knitting mojo, I’ve started making stretchy bracelets. I think I need an intervention from buying beads and charms. 🙂

Lol! An intervention wouldn’t help. You need rehab and a restraining order keeping you away from the craft store:) Beads and charms are too shiny to ignore:)

If Creepy SnifferMan REALLY wants me to jabbed, banning me from craft stores would be the way to go! “No shiny beads for you!” “Here’s my arm!”

Don’t worry you can order your beads online:)

That’s such a nice, subtle, go with anything color. And yes, I love patterns with options – although by now I just modify as needed! I’m on the road, so am working small things – socks right now, with the second one almost complete.

I like that! I am looking forward to finishing stuff, and getting back to my Orkney this year, of course that will be after I finish the Christmas ornaments, but at least I have started those!
