I’ve started Derecho, my July Camp Loopy project. It’s a top down short sleeve t-shirt. The yarn is Bamboo Pop by Universal Yarn in the brambles color.
I played around with a swatch on Wednesday. My gauge was “close enough” to pick a size. My intention is to try on as I go and adjust as best I can.
Yesterday I cast on and completed the edge of the neck. So far all is going well. The instructions make sense and the yarn feels fantastic. It’s super soft with a nice drape.
The theme for Camp this summer is circus. The rug in the photo was my mother’s. She had it in her living room and now I have it in mine. On H’s first visit after the rug had been delivered to my mother’s house she asked why Nanny bought a rug with a scary clown edge. I can’t unsee that scary clown no matter how hard I try. Let’s hope the clowns at Loopy Circus Camp aren’t scary and things go well with my project.
Oh, yes – I can easily see a scary clown! But it’s pinned in place on the rug, and the rug goes perfectly with your color.

Clowns have never scared me. Many other things do but not clowns. I love the color of that yarn and I can’t wait to see the results of this project

That is a scary clown. My best friend has a rug that I can’t unsee gnomes in.

Gnomes are so much more fun than scary clowns.

The run-of-the-mill clowns don’t scare me but there are some proper scary clown masks out there. Your rug clown isn’t too scary
