Doubling The Effort

Happy Spring!

I have consciously made sure that I spend sitting down time with my knitting in my hands and I think it’s making a difference. Can you see the stripes changing? I’m enjoying knitting this quite a bit. It’s super mindless which is just what I need. I’m nearly to the half way point so of course my mind has begun to think about my next project. I’d had one planned but now I’m not sure. I’ll have to do some more research before I commit.

The plan for today includes a couple of errands and knitting. But first I’ve got bills to pay. Enjoy your Saturday!

  1. I love this cowl! I cast on the first sleeve last night, I’m not used to working with worsted weight yarn anymore so it feels weird right now but I’ll get my groove back soon. Maverick actually let me knit about 10 rows!

I’m planning a striped neck warmer that starts similar to this. Four inches of light yarn to start, then a thin dark stripe, continuing with the dark stripes slowly getting thicker and thicker until it’s 50/50. Then the stripes start reversing, with bigger sections of dark yarn, and the light stripes getting smaller and smaller, ending with 4” of dark yarn.
Still in the planning stages. 🧶🧶🧶

It looks great! I got a small wall hanging done and now I am veggie on the couch. I don’t think I will pick up 1 more thing to do today. Too tired.

That looks great! Knitting always makes me feel better. I need to cast on a new mindless knit, though.

Catching up on blogs today! Looking forward to seeing your recent finish when it’s blocked, those colors are my cup of tea to be sure. The jobless stripes here are looking marvelous! I am finishing another salvage sock today, then I think I will pull out Orkney. I think I am ready to start the sleeve decreases and I need to reread how to do that In the round!

  9. Uhh, ever increasing stripe width. You should see the sweater I just finished. I did 3 colors and increased all three progressively. I did have to knit the sweater twice as despite using an excel sheet to try to predict how the sweater would look, turns out I increased the stripe width too fast and it looked awful on me. Mine started with the thin stripes at the neck and went to wider stripes as it progressed down the body. I suspect by maintaining the same width on your dark color, you won’t have the problem I did. 🙂
