Commercial Show

Last night The Husband watched that sports thing without the New England Patriots that has commercials. I don’t like the sports part but the commercials can be good.

I made The Husband stop so I could grab a photo of the Reddit ad. I knew H wouldn’t watch but I knew she’d love the ad. Reddit has been my favorite entertainment lately so I was thrilled to see their ad. Did you notice the ad? I’m sure lots of people missed it.

My other favorite was the Sam Adams ad. I was so glad to see the Clydesdales! It’s also pretty great to see them poke fun at the Boston accent. I’m allowed to say that since last I checked I have one, a real one not the fake Hollywood one.

I have no idea who won the sports part. It really doesn’t matter in the whole scheme of things.

I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you The Husband’s favorite part of the show. He loved the bombers doing the flyover. I think he would have been happy to skip the whole sporty part and just have the bombers pass overhead repeatedly.

Did you watch the Commercial Show? Which commercials were your favorites?

  1. Didn’t watch. No interest though in the past, the commercials were always the best part. The halftime used to be 25-30 years ago. Now it’s just farcical.
I always liked the Clydesdales. Thanks for the link.

I have to say that it was a real bust night of television. I thought the game stunk. The ads were equally bad except for one or two. I saw the reddit ad flash by and insisted my husband rewind. He was watching but did not even notice it. I loved it! What caught my eye was the logo, and the word “OWL”. Isn’t it funny what we pick up on? I went to bed after the third quarter.

    • I went to bed about then too. I have a complete dislike of TV football. It comes from years of my childhood watching when we had one TV. Longest 3 hours of my childhood every week when football was in season.

I never followed football until I met my husband 8 years ago. Now, I love watching it more than he does!! We like college as well. I can imagine that not having the option to watch anything else would really be a turn off. We had a rinky-dink tv downstars that all the uncles would sit around and yell at on Sunday. I just knew that when the game was over, it was time for dessert!!

      • We always had to have dinner during halftime. I don’t know how my mother ever managed to serve a perfect meal at a yet to be undetermined time. Dessert was eaten during third quarter:)

Hahaha!! I have gotten very good at timing dinner. Actually, it is more accurate to say I have gotten good at planning the menu.

  3. I did watch the commercial show for the actual first time in my life. My Mom is staying with us and she is a football fan, so I watched it with her. The commercials were pretty good for the most part 🙂 I didn’t have a favorite. Also didn’t catch the Reddit one.

    • I think I only caught the Reddit one because I paid extra close attention to the commercials. The companies get their full ad dollars with the way I watched. Ordinarily we DVR everything and fast forward through the commercials:)

  4. No TV, no interest in football – but I was happy to hit the link you sent to watch the Clydesdales!

  5. I watched the game, and enjoyed the commercials too. I liked the cheetos commercial with Ashton and Mila.

We don’t do the sports that have decided politics were more important than the game they were playing. Our lives have been just as happy without them!

  7. I glanced up during the half time show, couldn’t figure out why people were all in white masks – it looked like a take over, honestly – and couldn’t understand what was being sung. I didn’t see any commercials, but I’m not a football fan so I usually ignore the whole spectacle anyway.
