I was asked in the comments what was the best peanut butter cookie recipe. I’d have to say these Peanut Butter Pinwheels that my mother made were darn good. The chocolate goes great with the peanut butter creating a tasty cookie. As you can see by the staining on the card she made them fairly often.
That said, I’ve never made them. They require more fussing than I like to do. But I’ve eaten lots and they are very tasty.

My mom has thousands of recipes in her files and they are all covered with food splatter! It is the sign of a good recipe.

Your mom had nice handwriting. Handwritten recipes of favorite family foods are precious heirlooms in this digital age. One of my treasures is a recipe for genetti cookies that my grandma wrote down for me.

I’m with you – I am not a fan of fussy things. And I really don’t like to bake so if I’m going to do it at all it’s got to be super easy. Having said all that, these do sound magnificent.
