With Myles For Scale

I have been guilting myself into knitting a few rows on Vary The Gate in the hope that I’ll complete the two projects for Loopy Academy TAG at the same time. There is a slight chance I nearly caught the amount of yellow in this yarn. It’s one of the hardest yarn I’ve ever tried to photograph. The color just won’t capture correctly no matter what I do. It being a gray overcast day doesn’t help one bit too.

The only other thing about this yarn is the ball doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller. The pattern has a 4 row repeat and after every couple of repeats I feel the ball and it seems the same. How is that possible? I’m hoping at some point I’ll be surprised by how much smaller it is.

Awe, Myles .. how are you little one. So happy to see you are helping your mommy 🙂 Your knitting is beautiful .. it looks larger to me, maybe you are too close to working on it to see it grow. Happy Monday Knitting to you & Myles.

I’ve had a couple of shawls like that, where the yarn seems to be neverending. Interestingly, spaghetti often feels that way too!

Better than yarn chicken though. 🙂

  4. I have too much yarn in stash to want infinite yarn balls! But I’ll bet if you weighed it, you’d find it lighter. Is this a project where you go until you run out of yarn – in which case you’ll never finish – or does it have a finite end point?

The ball must have been slightly compressed in the winding.

  6. I’ve begun weighing my balls of yarn because I’m a poor judge of ball size and the amount of yarn left. I so hate playing yarn chicken…
