The Other Project

The color is more yellow. I’ll try to remember to take the next photo in natural light.

Of course after casting on a new project I went right back to the old one I had on the needles. I had an hour outside of the house to knit today so I wanted something I was familiar with.

I thought this time I’d take a close up photo so you could see the texture. This is one of those patterns that’s great for variegated yarn. The yarn is the star of the show from a distance but up close its all about the texture.

As a reminder this is Vary The Gate by Casapinka. The yarn is Leading Men fiber arts in Koi Pond. I had to look that up because a certain dog helped himself to the yarn tag and shredded it to bits.

In other news, I spent an hour today while my lunch cooked (a baked potato!) weaving in the ends on the cowl. Once I got going it wasn’t as daunting as I expected but I’m so glad it’s done.

We love baked potatoes in this house. I like how the colorway still comes through all that texture.
