Good News Bad News

Good news first. I finished the second clue of the Secret Handshake MKAL. I don’t want Sharon from Security, the cat running the MKAL, giving me a citation so I’ll post a link here to the photo if you’d like to see it. It’s on Ravelry. I’m pleased with the way it’s coming out though the colors are brighter than I would ordinarily use.

The bad news is that our furnace is a goner. There is a crack in the top so the steam that should be heading through the pipes to our radiators is just going up the chimney. Tomorrow the new one will be installed. I’m thankful that we are having to do this in October and not February like we did last time.

Oh!! The Cowl looks beautiful! I love the colors together.

Bummer about the furnace, but I agree that it’s better to need it now as opposed to deep winter.

But what a quick turn around to get a new one! There are so many things not available right now, so glad you will be ready for the cold weather. The cowl is so much fun, no wonder you are enjoying it!

Happy continued knitting . And shame about the furnace – as you say though, slightly better time of year for heating to need fixing (spoken as one who had her heating condemned one winter’s night at 10pm, when there was snow on the ground, toddler asleep in bed, husband away for several days …. )!

Your knitting is beautiful!! Welcome to the “get to replace furnace unexpectedly” club. We joined the club about 4 weeks ago. So let’s focus on knitting — lovely 🙂

NOOOO! But I am so happy this is October. We needed a plumber today and our first choice was slammed with boiler problems.

  8. So sorry to hear about your furnace! But you are right – better to get it replaced now rather than in the really cold weather!

Glad you got a new furnace. We are needing a repair or maybe a new furnace, but hopefully not!

I am off to see the cowl in a minute, I am sure it is lovely. As for the furnace, ouch! But once you have a new one, you will be amazed at how warm you are and for how much less cash. And yes, wonderful that it is in October!
