Contrary to what I wanted to do (which was throw everything aside and cast on something new), I did buckle down and finish the Klickitat Street cowl yesterday. It turned out beautifully. I have to say it is one of the most fun projects I’ve knit in a while. At first I wasn’t sure about the brightly colored yarn but in the end I love it. Knitting all the sections was a pleasure. It really was a very satisfying knit all the way around.
I have not yet blocked the cowl. Ordinarily I don’t block cowls unless they need it. This one doesn’t seem to need it so I’ll wear it first, once the weather gets colder, and then decide.
The pattern is Klickitat Street Cowl by Casapinka. The yarn is Cascade Heritage in smoked pearl (a gray with an almost brown hue) and Western Sky Knits Aspen Sock with nylon in flower power. The pattern is well written and easy to follow. I learned a few new to me stitches. The different yarn work well together. Western Sky Knits Aspen Sock with nylon is one of my favorite yarns. It has a lovely twist and the colors are beautiful.
I would knit this pattern again. It didn’t take too long when you consider I was working on two other projects at the same time. I’d rate it as an advanced beginner pattern. Even an adventurous beginner who can just knit and purl would be able to knit this pattern with a little help from YouTube.
It’s great! I love the colors in it. The flower power really makes it pop and goes so well with the Cascade

So pretty! Now that the weather is cooling down, you will probably get to wear it soon.
