Apple Crisp

When I went to Wilson’s Farm the other day they were highlighting the Cortland apples. They are by far my favorite cooking apples. I love them in pie. They’re what I always use. When I saw a huge table of freshly picked apples I gathered up enough to fill a bag. I knew I’d make apple crisp. It’s The Husband’s favorite fall dessert. I used this recipe. It is the one I like best. The apples on the bottom are moist and flavorful and the topping is crunchy. It is perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Have you got a go to fall dessert?

  1. Oh my gosh that looks delicious! My go to fall dessert is my caramel apple pie. Sometimes a pumpkin pie for variety 🙂

Fruit crisp is a favorite here….yesterday I did my weekly “what old thing can I take out of the freezer” and decided to grab a sorry looking bag of sliced pears that hadn’t been lemon juiced to keep them nice. I used some dehydrated cranberries and made a crisp, it was pretty runny but the smell of fruit and cinnamon is so wonderful….

I cannot believe it, I went Apple picking with my daughter in Connecticut and first thing I made was APPLE CRISP! We are definitely on the same cooking wave length. And they are Cartland Apple too, amazing. Lol
