In The Wrong Direction

Well that is a horrible photo. It’s what happens when you wait until right before bed to throw together a post. I’ve got an explanation though.

I have this thing, I both say it and mean it: Words Matter. If you chose your words carefully you can easily convey what you mean with minimal misunderstanding. I like things to be clear and easy to understand.

I ran into a wee problem working on the second shoulder of the vest. The problem wasn’t so much with the second shoulder, it was more that I misinterpreted the directions of the first. It said work X rows back and forth in stockinette stitch across all stitches. I did too many rows, like 2X number of rows. So I’ve got to tink back. First I’ll do the neck shaping on the second shoulder since I’m already working on that side. A couple hours and I’ll be all straightened out.

The good thing is you’re learning a whole new knitting technique, I have faith in you.

German short rows, my fave! White bread, my fave! Chocolate Cake, call me Myles!!! Hope you are back on track soon! I need to pack vacation knitting, but I have no idea what to pack!! I may just pack my needles and head the to the yarn shop when I get there so I can buy boy worsted for a Gramps. I doubt I have anything in the stash for a boy.

I’m glad you figured it out. It sounds like an easy fix. I knit too many rows on my heel flap this weekend but not because I misunderstood anything. I was just knitting away and forgot to stop!

I had that happen once. I thought I did one side correct and did not realize my error until I worked the other side. It is looking great though!!

I find patterns to be some of the most frustrating things on the planet. Sometimes it’s how they’re written and sometimes it’s how my brain insists on interpreting them. Either way, UGH.
