Wrangle The Mess

The knitting stuff has begun to take over the corner. The original plan was to use the chair to hold my WIP bags (2 or 3 small bags). But that isn’t what’s happened. I’ve slowly piled a bunch of things. I’ve got a couple of days before I can cast on my August project so I think I’ll try to put things away. Do you find your craft items take over corners of your home?

Alissa made us a group on Ravelry. Please feel free to come join us. It’s called Blogville Knitters.

Too funny! Being both a knitter and spinner, my stash has its own ROOM. Plus an 8’ shelf unit on the star landing … and a corner of the basement. Oh! And under the dinette bench in my RV. 😂

  2. Hahaha brilliant 😁
Different fibre crafts take up different corners, there’s some organisation to the mess!

  3. Yes. It has a cupboard, that frequently spills over onto the daybed. Then WIPs takeover half a sofa sometimes. Depends what I am working on.

Like you all, it’s here there and everywhere and I just can’t stop adding to it…too much wool, too little time??

I try to keep active projects in small (tiny) tote bags to make them more portable. Those hang on hooks in the laundry room, which is closest to where the supplies live. I try very hard to keep anything not deemed “active” put away where it’s supposed to live. I am not always successful. 🙂

My wips are the things that tend to collect. I have 3 bags on my chair right now.

  9. The spot by my chair looks like a yarn store threw up, even after I packed up most of my WIPs. It’s a problem.

  10. Lol – YES! My craft stuff definitely winds up piled in drifts around the house. Fortunately, DH does the same thing with his hobby stuff. Occasionally we have a day where we both take some time and put everything away. Then we look at each other and say “Let’s try to keep it this way” and then we laugh 🙂

I joined! My knitting project bags are on the coffee table in the area of the unused/covered wet bar. I have lots of knitting stuff in the coffee table too, LOL.

Family room coffee table. Piled with projects. It’s the only place I allowed to be a mess. With all this renovation my mind is slowly going crazy because I can’t contain The disorder. But that table is allowed.
