I finished my Rainbow for Pride socks last night just after 10. To be honest I didn’t think I’d get them done but I forced myself to put off everything else to get them done.
The yarn is White Birch Fiber Arts merino/nylon self striping in the A Pessimist’s Rainbow colorway. The pattern is the one I keep in my head: 64 stitches with a heel flap and wide toe.
If you look at the order of the colors of the rainbow you’ll see I knit the socks from different ends of the yarn. What I did was wind the yarn in a ball, knit one sock and then reroll the remaining yarn so the order would change. I think it’s a fun way to make your non matching striped socks intentionally non matching.
I really enjoyed the yarn. It’s a slightly thicker fingering weight which will make cozy warm socks. The colors are vibrant and the dyeing done beautifully. I will use this yarn again and I highly recommend you give it a try.
Thanks to Sarah for running the Rainbow Socks for Pride month KAL. It was fun watching all the beautiful rainbow socks.
I really love these and am a huge fan of odd socks myself.

These are great! I think it’s best if socks are sisters, not twins. Are you wearing them today?

I’m afraid it’s too warm and humid here for wool socks today.

Thanks for recommending the yarn. I am always seeking out slightly thicker sock yarns.

It has a really nice twist too. One more thing, there were no knots in the skein I had which I am always pleased about:)

Woo hooooo you made it! And I looooove that they don’t match exactly – I’ve discovered I quite like that after all.
