I have only spent a small amount of time knitting the Rainbow sock. I’ve been distracted.
Yesterday I fell deep down the rabbit hole that is Ravelry. I’m trying to decide on an August project. The yarn will have to be ordered in early July. The requirement is a project with at least 800 yards of yarn. I won’t know exactly what the specific science related requirement will be until early July. I’ve got to have a least a few ideas. I won’t have an afternoon to waste in July when I’m working on my 600+ yard project. Anyway I picked out a few sweaters and a couple of shawls. Here are a couple of them:
- Walk Along by Ankestrick
- Anna’s Cardigan by PetiteKnit
- Flake by Monie Ebner
- Quintessential Cardigan by Churchmouse Yarns and Teas
- Rainfall Shawl by Jo Creates
- Powys by Jeanne Long
- Green Light Shawl by Martina Behm
Hopefully one of those (or something else that catches my eye) will meet the requirements.
The link for Annabel’s cardigan is the same link for walkabout, but you’ve got some nice selections there. As I’ve fallen out with fingering weight yarn at the moment I’d opt for the worsted or DK pattern lol, but they are all lovely.

Same on the Rainfall shawl. I’ve completed a crochet shawl by Jo Creates. The pattern was good and well detailed and the shawl was lovely.

Time for a change from the sock then! Fatter yarn faster project….and winter’s coming, at least fall weather. Sleeves -kind of like a sock for your arm! Thanks for my rabbit hole Rav moment this morning.

Ahh, the Ravelry Rabbit Hole… It’s one of may favorite ways to kill some time 😉 I also have some rainbow socks that have been getting a bit neglected, and of course it’s the second sock, lol. You’ve got some great contenders for your August project! I especially like Powys.

I’m surprised we all don’t run into each other in those rabbit holes. The Walk Along has been in my Favorites for a long time.

My favorite is Powys. The lace sections are interspersed in an interesting manner.

I love petiteknit patterns so much, I’d probably have to go with the cardi. Good luck- can’t wait to see what you pick

Some really nice cardigan patterns…Anna’s cardigan is lovely, as is Flake. I may have to join you on that!

They are all great patterns. I am partial to Anna’s Cardigan. I really like the ease.

I love that pattern but worry I can’t knit it in a month.

You are a prolific knitter, but a cardigan in the summer in a month is ambitious.

My opinion…Walk Along or Flake.

You already have so many shawls you could wear one every single day even in summer and not use them all, that being said I would still go with green light shawl, it’s gorgeous
