Yesterday Marilee mentioned starting the Arachne KAL on Saturday. That got me thinking that I better get moving on my sock! So I spent yesterday finishing the foot and toe. Today I’ll get going on the leg. I won’t be ready to start the KAL tomorrow but I should be ready by Monday.
Speaking of the KAL. I took a quick look at the pattern and I’m a little nervous. My colorwork is shaky at best. I come from the Elizabeth Zimmermann school of knitting that says floats should not be longer than 5 stitches. Some of the ones in this pattern are 11. Yikes that is a long way. I haven’t quite decided what my technique will be for working around this. I’m already reworking the pattern for worsted weight. I may just jump in and rework the spider web chart too. Or maybe not.
Today I’ve got something I’ve mentioned before but since we’ve got nothing but time I thought I’d mention it again. For those of you on Ravelry there is a group called Lovin’ the Freebies. They have a topic where they list temporarily free patterns. Currently there are many generous designers who are helping us to stay busy while we are staying home. They are offering patterns for free for a day or two. It’s so kind of them. I’ve picked up more than a few I’m looking forward to casting on.
