It has been suggested by our governor that we stay home. Nothing different there for us. We’ve been hanging home for days. Yesterday involved a trip to the grocery store for a two week supply, snow, rain, a return to schooling and lots of knitting time.
I’ve gone off script with the sock. The pattern calls for ribbing on the leg. I wasn’t feeling it. I’m just going with plain soothing knitting round and round and round until I get the urge to knit the ribbing. I’m shooting for a 6 inch leg give or take.
Today I want to share a personal favorite place with you. While we are all on lockdown The New England Aquarium in Boston is offering presentations online. There are a bunch available on their web site and they do a live one on their Facebook daily. My favorite is the penguins! Though feeding the octopus is pretty cool too.
That sock is looking really great!! Be safe during your stay at home. The largest city in my state just issued a lockdown order; my city is the 2nd largest, so I’m thinking our order is right around the corner.

It’s difficult time right now, your socks are turning out lovely. I’m curious, though, since you have stripes on the heels, did you do anything different for the color jogs?

The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has come great videos of penguins at Twitter:
Go back to March 15 to see the penguins walking through the aquarium, checking out the other animals.
I hope you were able to keep a distance during supermarket shopping. It seems like the shopping process varies greatly depending on what state you live in. I hear there is rationing in PA while my family is taking advantage of preordering and picking up food in WI.
The sock is looking good!

Connecticut is on shutdown by governors border. As a Remodeler contractor we are considered “essential” however from our point of view – our families are more important!
We are closed for the week – we have a couple of employees with spouses who have health issues so if we do decide to work we have to reasses our crews.
Trying to do our part to flatten the curve

Love purple socks! This one is a beauty. Life certainly is different. My children and granddaughter live within a 10 mile radius, but I can’t physically see them. I understand why, and we are in contact daily, but it is hard. Thank goodness my husband and I can find plenty to do, otherwise there might be a homicide! Seriously, this is what has to happen to prevent a massive tragedy. So, thanks for your blog, and everyone stay away!

Oh, thank you so much for sharing about the virtual visits! These kinds of things are keeping my mind off current events while the administration at my university decides whether or not my department will continue to work onsite.
Also, this sock looks AMAZING!

I am knitting the simple slip sock you shared with us. That is the extent of leg pattern I feel like knitting right now.
