Resilience

Thank you for the prayers. By the end of yesterday some things had improved. We’ll all have to keep the Coronavirus situation in our prayers. That isn’t going to resolve itself in a day.

Now, the knitting. I’d say I’m about 80% good with what I’m doing. That not so good 20% is the little holes that are visible on the right. When I was working on it last night and I realized there was an issue I did what I would tell any other knitter: put it down and step away from the knitting. It was either that or I was going to rip it out. Since it was late enough that starting again wasn’t practical I erred on the side of caution. Later today I will reassess and probably rip it out and begin again. Hopefully I’ll have figured out an answer to the issue by then.

Oh dear….little tiny hole. I do like the colors you choose. Keep us posted as to what you decided to do.

  2. So glad that things got a little better for you – hopefully that trend continues 🙂 It is looking great so far! Is it something you could take a tail end and close up with a small stitch from the inside?

    • The way this heel is knit there is no tail end. I think it’s they way I’ve slipped the yarn when I’ve got from two increases at each end to one. It’s changed the way the stitches are handled on the next round. I’ve got to just look through Ravelry and see how others have dealt with it. I can’t be the only one.

  3. I wish that I could give you some advice but I’ve never attempted that sort of thing. Since my husband has such an incredibly high instep I always stick to my trusty heelflap and gusset. But I do think that putting it down and coming back to it is a very wise idea.

Sorry your day was fraught with tension. I seem to have been running since Monday morning and just now I am getting to read all those blog posts that have piled up! And my Tuexdo list isn’t getting shorter!!! Maybe today will find enough time in the sewing/knitting room to actually work on something longer than 15 minutes.

Definitely keeping you and your family in prayers. Yes, have been praying about the Corona Virus! Are you knitting with circulars? I’ve been using dpns. I REALLY like them. Oh wow! That sock is SO pretty. ♥️

I love this start! It make me think of Alice in Wonderland and her and the Cheshire Cat.
