FO Friday: There & Back Again Socks

My first project for Loopy Grad School is finally done. They turned out beautifully though I haven’t forgotten the angst they gave me. Oh colorwork why do I love the finished item but hate the work it takes to get there?

The pattern is There & Back Again Socks by Dawn Cottone. The yarn is JulieSpins half-pint in totally red and winter sky. The pattern is well written though it is a toe up pattern. I just knit it cuff down, my preferred method. The yarn is a light fingering weight. It works really well for colorwork. The half pint skeins are 230 yards so they’re perfect for a 2 color sock. I recommend both the yarn and the pattern.

I’m very happy I knit the socks as fraternal twins. They both look nice and will be a pleasant surprise when they peek out from under my pant legs.

  1. Beautiful! The colors and small tiny “v” hearts make them look like Valentine’s Day socks – very appropriate for a February project.
