The Firiel Shawl is done and blocked. I’m very pleased with the way it turned out. The pattern is designed by Lucy Hague. It’s a sideways garter stitch shawl with simple lace edge that is worked as the body of the shawl is knit. The pattern is very intuitive and easy to remember. Lucy is a fantastic designer. I look forward to trying another of her patterns.
The yarn is Farm Girl Fibers Clover in black raspberry ice cream. It was a gift from my knitting neighbor who buys me the nicest yarn. Thank you knitting neighbor. This yarn was a pleasure to knit. It’s soft and the color beautiful. I’d love to use this yarn again.
Today I’ll be waiting mostly impatiently for my yarn order to arrive. I can’t wait to cast on something new.
It’s so gorgeous! I like that the edge is done at the same time as the body

It is simply gorgeous and looks wonderful on you! You’ll need it with the impending chill we have going on. The cabled cowl I’m knitting is also Lucy Hague. It called for sock yarn, I’m using a fuller DK and size 6 needles. Several of the current FO on Ravelry were done that way so I went ahead and did it too. I have an entire skein ($) of Madelinetosh High Twist to use up and it shows such beautiful definition so that was my choice. I can’t believe how gorgeous her patterns are. I LOVE your shawl.

Beautiful! Is Lucy Hague the designer who is also a mathematician and musician? That one fascinated me but I haven’t knit any of her designs yet.

That’s lovely! And looks easier than some of her designs! I do love her work but will be careful which I choose going forward. 😉 Durrow nearly did me in.
