Well Myles has adjusted to all our household disruptions. He’s decided that the chair and afghan are his. I keep finding him napping all comfortably tucked in by the Christmas tree.
I’m feeling at loose ends. I haven’t knit in days. See, my favorite place to knit was in bed in front of the tv but we’ve moved the bed upstairs and that room has no tv. I don’t feel comfortable knitting in the living room. The light is wrong and I just can’t get the rhythm. So I haven’t been knitting. Maybe I’ll cast on a sock or something. Maybe not.
Why ? – why was the bed moved upstairs where the TV ain’t ? If there’s no meaningful reason, can’t it be moved downstairs again ?

Our daughter moved out and we reclaimed the master bedroom. Overall it’s a good thing. I’m just a one who hates change and takes time to adjust.

I’m so like you on “NOT” enjoying change. I mull it over and over …

OK, makes sense … but for why the infant had the master bedroom. [grin]

Well, we have 2 bedrooms on the second floor and a smaller one on the first. When my second child arrived I didn’t want him downstairs alone and my daughter walked in her sleep. One time she actually made it out the front door before we grabbed her. So she couldn’t be on the first floor alone. That left us. Our life is one giant accommodation for one reason or another. We’re parents.

Or another TV added to the room where it is now ?

Myles looks like a big ball of snuggliness. Maybe you can’t knit because you can’t keep admiring him!

Perhaps a crafting light will help improve things? I have one and it’s only a tiny light on a tall stand with an adjustable top arm bit. It makes all the difference. Hope your knitting mojo returns.

Oh no! I hope you find your new spot and get your knitting mojo back.

Ummm – what displaced the bed?
it would be totally awful to have to give up knitting because the right spot isn’t there any longer! I’ve got a really comfortable rocking chair (beautiful, too), by a window and with a good light next to it for nighttime knitting. Of course, when I sit in it, I usually end up with a cat filling the lap as well, which makes my knitting a little furrier.

Knitting is too important to you to have it so disrupted. Move the bed so you can knit.

It sounds like you need an early Christmas gift of a crafting light or a bedroom TV.

I am amazed you could knit in bed. I can never get that comfortable. I need a chair to envelope me, but still give my arms movement. So my big comfy chair is my place to be. But my oldest, iNDy thinks it is HIS chair, LOL

Hope you find a good knitting spot soon

Time to work on that TV Room. How about adding a big, wide club chair, ottoman and floor lamp? That set-up works pretty well for me, along with a narrow side table to hold my knitting tool and yarn bowl. I can stretch out my legs or curl them up under me. Sometimes the yarn bowl rests on the floor.

Can you move the bedroom tv upstairs too?

Alas no cable in the bedroom and I don’t want to pay to install it.

Well then! New lamp for the living room?

I’ve moved my Ott light to the living room but I have to move it when I want to use it and move it to the corner when not in use. Once the Christmas tree is gone I’ll have a better place to sit both the light and myself:)

Ahh yes, the Christmas tree furniture shuffle! It’s worth it, but still a process.

It’s never fun when your spaces get disrupted, especially when you have everything how you like it! Hope after the holidays there’s a good solution to let you be comfortable and do your knitting! Also, hope that Myles is settling in OK too!
