FO Friday: Fancy Edition

I am happy to say the Hedera socks are done. Now that they are finished I can say I really enjoyed knitting these socks. Normally I look for easy, plain, mindless patterns so this was a good bit out of my comfort zone. In the future I’ll have to look back on this sock knitting experience when I’m picking out a pattern.

The pattern is Hedera by Cookie A. The yarn is Cascade Heritage in Caribbean Sea. The pattern is well written and easy enough to follow. There are a couple of things I would change if I knit these again. I’d do my usual heel flap for one. I think I’d do a few more rounds for the cuff too. This cuff slides down a bit.

This is the final (3rd) project for Loopy Academy Grad School. The requirement for this was to knit a pattern by Cookie A.

  4. If the cuffs are yielding to gravity, might it be that they are just a little too snug, and trying to find a slightly smaller part of the leg? I’ve learned that on my chunky calves, making them loose enough is the trick. Those are gorgeous – definitely on my list to make! One question – if you wear that lace inside shoes, is it open enough to irritate the skin where compressed?

    • I plan to wear these with Mary Jane style shoes. I can see there being a possibility of irritation under the buckle strap if it’s tight. I’ll report back once I’ve worn them but it might not be for a couple of weeks.
