But I Don’t Drink Coffee

I don’t know how this happened. I’ve always been the one at the table who doesn’t drink coffee. I don’t visit Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts daily to get my fix like many, many people do. Don’t get me wrong I like things that are coffee flavored, particularly ice cream which you know if you’ve hung around here for any time. I’ve even treated myself to a coffee shake on a hot day. The Husband and N both can’t start their day without a large cup of coffee or two, hot only for The Husband and iced for N. A couple of weeks ago N asked me to buy him a bottle of iced coffee when I was grocery shopping. He expected that this would speed up his morning routine. One morning after a mostly sleepless night I thought a small sweet iced coffee was just the thing to get me through the day. Little did I know how addictive this beverage could be. I’ve had one every morning since. So I guess I’ve become a coffee drinker. It’s surprising how quickly it happened really.

Ok note to self I won’t start that as I’m not a coffee drinker right now. My friend does swear Dublin Donuts is the best coffee though. Does the brand make a difference in your new routine?

  4. Welcome to the club. I need my cup or two, hot only in the morning, or I get a headache. Sign of addiction, but I could be addicted to much worse.

I am a coffeeholic for sure, started when I was five years old and mom discovered it helped calm my morning wheezing. Girl #1 bought me a little Mr. Coffee espresso maker for Christmas 3 years ago, and Girl #2 brings me espresso when she comes stateside, so now I can make my own once or twice a week. I still doing a lot of black coffee in the morning, as it does help my allergies. 🙂

  9. Ha! Well, coffee is tasty. I have cut down to one cup of caffeinated coffee a day because I feel peppier that way. I used to drink coffee all day and into the evening and sleep well, too. Not anymore.

My mom wasn’t a coffee drinker until she tried flavored iced coffee, particularly caramel. Welcome to the dark side!

  13. I’m not a coffee drinker unless it is sweet and creamy. I used to make hot chocolate at work with 1/2 hot water and 1/2 coffee to keep myself awake and warm some mornings.

I love the smell of coffee but not the taste. Not even with chocolate or in cake.
