I learned a very important lesson when I was a newish parent : Mean what you say and do what you say. Well, I’ve blown that many times as a knitter and blogger. I haven’t blown it (badly) as a parent, yet.
So I was making a regular visit to The Loopy Ewe web site and on their blog they announced a new challenge: Loopy Academy Grad School. Now I have never seriously considered real grad school but knitting grad school is for me! I’ve decided to major in socks since that is where my knitting passion lies. I haven’t totally decided exactly which requirements I’ll do. I did pick out three skeins of Cascade heritage sock yarn for my projects. The colors are forged iron, Caribbean Sea and red. I would like the patterns to be textured, cabled or some other fancy looking patterning. I may do the fish lips kiss heel. When I tried it the first time things didn’t go well. Hopefully I can do better this time.
The plan is to cast on this weekend. I can’t wait to see what I decide to knit. Oh and that sweater I was planning will get done eventually.
Mmm… Cascade.

You are the boss of your knitting, so it is OK to say what you mean and do something else. 🙂
I will check out the grad school.. not that I have done any of the other classes. but you knit such amazing things when you participate.

Sounds like a great time – I look forward to the results. I have a pair of socks – or half a pair; I lost one. So I need to reconstruct the pattern, and make #2. That may be what I do while Dorian blows past.

I’m a big fan of Cascade Heritage. Knitted quite a nice pullover with it.

This is a great trifecta of colors. Yes, I agree, you do love sock knitting; glad you can “major” in it.
