Every so often I read a book that is so good that I’m sad when I reach the end. I miss the characters and watching their story unfold. This shawl was just like that. Each and every stitch was a pleasure to knit. As the shawl got larger and the rows longer it was just more to love. As I reached the last few rows, before the panic of the unplanned 12 rows, I could feel my mood change. I went from complete enjoyment to feeling wistful knowing that the end was near.
The pattern is Grateful Moments by Sylvia McFadden. It’s a fabulous pattern, everything I like in a shawl. It’s well written and simple to follow. The yarn is Malabrigo sock in Persia. I have grown to love this yarn. It’s perfect for shawls and holds it shape nicely when blocked. Also it’s available now so many colors.
This photo shows the color of the yarn best. It isn’t right but it is closer than the other photos.
This is my final Camp Loopy project for 2019. I had so much fun with Camp this year. I plan on attending next year.
Oh it’s beautiful! You must be so happy with it! That’s awesome that Camp Loopy continues to live up to your expectations.

Oh, lovely!!! You did well with camp this year, little angst!
I hear you on good books. 😊 I stopped reading Team of Rivals about 100 pages from the end, put it down for weeks because I knew they were going to assassinate Lincoln. I couldn’t bear it.

It’s sooooo pretty!
And I’m glad I’m not the only person who gets that feeling with books sometimes.

I’m the same way with books and also with knitting patterns. That’s why I like series books where you can read more and more about the characters. And with knitting, I find I knit the same pattern several times, like the Milo vest, the Baby Surprise Jacket. Right now, I’m knitting the first of five matching Coming Home Cardigans for my sister’s grandchildren after having knit one for my own granddaughter!

Yippee! It’s gorgeous, it’s wonderful, it’s everything you thought it would be. Now, I wanna see you wear it! I wanna hear how wonderful it feels wrapped up in it. I will allow for cooler weather to appear, but I will be waiting!

It looks great. I love it when I get that feeling from books and knitting projects. It is hard to come to the end of some things.

I agree – it is sad coming to the end of something you are enjoying.

It’s just beautiful and like a book you can go back and reread every once in a while (I have several favorites I do this with) you can knit the pattern again.
