On My Mind

I’ve hardly been knitting the last couple of days. I’m tired and unfocused. My sleep is messed up again (or maybe still). I just keep waking up over and over and during the day I’m exhausted and fighting to keep my eyes open. It’s left me dulled and dopey.

I finished the leg of the sock and got started on the heel flap.

I’ve spent too much time playing games on my phone and poking around on Ravelry. I did find a project I’m fighting the urge to cast on. It’s this super cute spring sweater that I’m thinking of knitting for fall. I have some yarn that might work. I also have 3 projects on the needles and adding a 4th would be bad/wrong/against the rules. For now I’m going to use the promise of casting on as the carrot to get me through a project or two.

That is a super cute sweater! I would use it as a prize for finishing a few things, myself, but you will do what works best for you, of course. 😊

Sorry about the sleep stuff. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? You could have sleep apnea, or 100 other treatable things. Best of luck sorting it out!

It is possible it’s menopause. I had some of the worst sleep in my life when I was going through it. Still, I would push to find a doctor who is willing to dig deeper. Like Salpal says, it could be an easily treatable thing.

Great progress on the sock. That is a sweet sweater on the beautiful Joji. Sorry your sleep sucks right now. I hope you can figure out what’s going on.

Sorry about the sleep issue – having something similar going on too!

  5. So sorry to hear about your sleep – that really makes it hard to function! Hope that it gets resolved sooner rather than later. Agree that maybe a different doctor would be willing to look a little harder to find you a solution!
Your sock is looking lovely! And that is a great sweater pattern – just the thing for spring and fall 🙂

But maybe that project is the one you need to keep you knitting right now.

  7. I hope you get better nights sleep soon. I recommend Christiane Northrup’s “the wisdom of menopause ‘. It’s enormous and sends me off to sleep pretty quickly, I started reading it about 8 years ago and still haven’t finished it 😂. I jest, but it is an interesting book to dip in and out of and sleep is covered.

What a cute sweater!! I do that all the time! “If I do this, then I can do that”. Bribery always works with me🤣

Hope your sleep improves this week. I used to sleep eight hours always, and now I am waking up 2-3 times a night, usually with hot flashes too, though I’m getting better at managing them. I have discovered there is a very definite pattern to the waking, though I’ve not documented it. I usually have a bad week, then 2-3 Ok ones and then one wonderful week, and so on. I hope you get it sorted, yours sounds like it’s consistently bad with multiple wake ups.

I have a game on my phone that I play way too much. I have to keep it in check so I don’t spend all day on that silly game 🙂
