Trying Out Something Else

That is a horrible photo. Yes, I’m creating that shadow. But this post is more about the pattern and less about the photo. I’m trying out Expeditious by As Anderson. It’s a shawl pattern specifically written for variegated yarn. I’ve only done 9 rows so far but I’m happy with how it’s going. Maybe this pattern will stick.

One thing that is going to stick is this recipe I tried for chai tea. I found it on the Twitter of a true crime podcaster. It’s equal amounts of water and milk placed in a saucepan to which you add a teaspoon of sugar per serving, a tea bag per serving and about 1/8th tsp of cardamom per serving brought to a boil and then allowed to simmer for 15 minutes. I used a cup each of water and milk, 2 teabags, 2 tsp sugar and 1/4 tsp cardamom. It was very tasty and I will be making it again.

  1. I am not a shawl knitter, but that shawl! It’s lovely. I’m going to send a link to my sister who is a shawl knitter because if she hasn’t already knitted it she should! I think it looks like that might be a really good pattern for that yarn and I am interested to see how you feel about it as you progress.

That looks like a good pattern, it has enough stockinette stitch to show off the sheen to the yarn. Good luck on that

Mmm, that tea recipe sounds yummy. I have bought Trader Joe’s chai latte and it tastes very yummy. I swear though I’m packin on pounds from it though.

The tea sounds a bit like (I think I have this right) Vietnamese tea made by boiling condensed milk. It has a sweet spicy flavour. I like the idea of a shawl pattern for variegated yarn as I have loads of it and will definitely add this to my future WIPs.

I love making homemade chai but that’s a slightly different recipe than I use. Thanks for sharing, I’ll try it out:)
