FO Friday: Finally Finished

I finally finished the Garter Rib Baby Blanket. It’s been done for a couple of weeks but not blocked. It’s not blocked now but I figured I better show it to you before I forget. I’ll block it eventually. This a gift for The Husbands nephew’s second son who is due at the end of April. Here is a link to the blanket I knit for their first son. I used the same yarn but a different pattern. It’s a quirk of mine that I like to be fair and equal where kids are involved even when the kids don’t know it. I thought the mum would have the option of displaying the blankets on the kids beds when they’re a bit older and having them kind of match would be cute. Yeah, I’ve got weird ideas.

The pattern is Garter Rib Baby Blanket by Orange Flower. It is available for free on Ravelry. The yarn is Zara solid by Feza. It is discontinued sadly. I got it from a neighbor of my mother a few years ago. It is an acrylic wool blend. I enjoyed knitting the pattern though I did follow some of the helpful hints on Ravelry. I slipped the first stitch of every row and increased the size of the border. I would knit this pattern again definitely with the changes.

It turned out very nicely, I know we are glad when big projects are done, but that one looked like it was a nice item to work on when you needed something to work on that didn’t take a ton of concentration, even tho it had a deadline. I’m sure it will be loved :).

  5. Lovely blankets. That shade of blue is one I love; I have knitted myself a couple of jumpers in similar shades through the years and loved wearing them.
