Plant Question

Yesterday we went for a short walk and along the path I spotted these stalk with thorns. What caught my attention was the fact that they were purple. I had a hard time seeing the photo I had taken because of the glare. Hopefully you can see the purple. Does anyone know what these are? I’ve got no idea.

After a long stretch with no ice cream (I know, crazy!) I had a scoop last night with sprinkles. It really hit the spot.

I don’t know the plant, but keep an eye on it in spring and summer, I bet we can figure it out then!

Could it be a red dogwood? or some other species of dogwood?

  3. Possibly Barberries. Their stalks are usually purple in color and the definitely have thorns. It looks a bit rangier than barberries though, so I’m not positive….

  4. I have those all over the place around here and get caught on them during dog walks. Those are probably black raspberry plants.

We had a thorny bush that had red stalks I wonder if they could be related. I had ice cream last night too! Yum!

I have a feeling that is some type of raspberry bush, especially if it did not have any berries on it because the birds LOVE them!! Try to remember a photo in the spring and summer. If it is, you can pick them and put them on your ice cream!

After a VERY long time without cheesecake brownies, I made a batch last night! And now I have entirely too many to eat so some are going to the neighbors tomorrow!

I want to add you to my Pokémon go friend list, as I only have two friends at this point. It’s a lot of fun but with the snow I’m not gonna be doing a lot of walking today. My trainer number is 3182 2656 1253 I’m not sure if you can share the code that way or if you have to do it directly from your phone. Are usually read my friends blog posts on an iPad which does not have Pokémon on it
