We Survived

I definitely think we’re getting a little soft around here. When I started making dinner last night it seemed a little chilly in the house. I had to run down to the basement to move some laundry into the dryer. It seemed even colder down there. I checked the furnace for oil and water. All looked good so I went back upstairs and turned the thermostat up. Nothing happened. Turned it up another degree. Still, nothing. I called our oil company who said they’d send someone out in the next 5 hours. He arrived 3 1/2 hours later. It seems the motor on the oil burner went. He replaced it and had the heat back on in about 30 minutes. Everyone went to bed in warmish rooms and by this morning all is returned to normal. Myles is glad I’ve been putting off his grooming. He would have been cold without his fur coat.

Not the time you want to be losing heat! I just had the dogs hairs did, in time for the heavy snow we are currently having!!! Ugh!

Why does it always have to be something with a burner when the coldest weather comes in? And why is it always 3 or more hours before the burner guy can get there? I am glad you are all warm again. This was my burner rant for the day.

Thank goodness for heat and good thing you caught it in time. While I don’t walk around the hood this winter because it’s cold, it is just as cold in the garage when I use the elliptical or treadmill.
