And The WIP Winner Is…

I went for a shallow wade into the WIP pile and pulled out the pink socks. Yes, that’s not them. I knit a couple of rounds and threw them back. I’m not in a sock mood. Then I pulled out the Sockhead cowl. Round after round of plain old stockinette sounds wonderful so I’ve done a few rounds. This might stick, at least until I get the urge to switch to something else. I’m feeling very fickle. That isn’t good for getting things done. At least I haven’t lost the will to knit. That’s me, always looking at the bright side.

  1. Hey, a couple rows done is a couple rows done. You did just get done with a pair of sock – the urge will come around again. Meanwhile, you have that awesome hat to work on!

I usually have several projects in the works and just work on what I feel like doing at the time. Some are for TV knitting, some for travel knitting, and some require alone-time knitting!

That hat looks beautiful and almost finished! I love the colors.

  3. Good job picking through the WIP pile. And a few rounds have been added to the socks and the cowl. That is progress 😉

Looks like you are almost done with the hat tho, then it will be an FO! 🙂 Having a lot of WIPs make me crazy so I only generally have 2 or 3 things on my needle at one time, so if I get bored with one I can work on another, but anxiety rears it’s ugly head when I have more than that :P.

  5. I’m feeling the same way. i am about to toss my WIPs to the side and cast on a new shawl. I’m not feeling anything I should be working on.

You are too funny! Keep that will alive! I have two knits going right now, a cowl and a shawl. I would like to cast on a hat, but I know I will just knit the hat until it’s done. I don’t know why, but I feel compelled to knit hats from start to finish! Love the striping you’ve got going on there.

  7. Sometimes we go through times like this. As long as you’re still knitting, you’re still making progress. I don’t know if you take any mental meds, but days like this are a pink flag for me to check in with my shrink. I hope you’re doing okay! ❤

I do this periodically too, but usually with my appliqué quilt! Tonight is cross stitch night, but I may still do a few rows in the cardigan back. What ever gets knit on is closer to the finish!

I know the feeling. I’ve been working on a years old WIP for me only to realize I won’t have enough yarn and it has been discontinued. It was a garter stitch jacket sweater for me and I have struggled with all the fitted increases and decreases so I’m giving up. It will be a sweater someday, just not that one. I stuffed it back in the bag it’s been living in and gave it a long time out (like forever). I had reworked the sleeves twice on larger needles to no avail. That’s it, I’m done and over it. I was on the SLEEVES! Oh well. I immediately started the blue sweater I bought yarn for in Maine in October and felt instantly better. I hope you have better luck. Happy New Year.

I tried knitting a Sockhead Hat and ended up frogging it. I lost mojo thinking even though it was hat, in that weight yarn…oh boy it would seem like forever although it’s probably like a pair of socks.

I’m on a stockinette project right now! Calls for interesting TV, podcast or audiobook!
