The shawl is done and blocked! I am thrilled with the way it turned out. Blocking really turns what looks like a wrinkled mess into something to be proud of.
The pattern is Perfect Retreat Shawl by Susan B. Anderson. The yarn is Cascade Heritage in gray. I followed the pattern as written and made the larger size. The pattern is really well written and would be a great first lace/shawl pattern. It tells you exactly what to do which I love. The yarn is one I’ve used many times in the past and will use many times to come. It’s a real workhorse fingering weight. It’s soft but sturdy.
Today is my birthday. I plan to spend the day playing Pokemon Go, having lunch out and when evening comes I’ll be knitting until it’s time to go to bed. I’m sure I’ll be doing my usual things too. I just want to take a day off from the holiday craziness.

Congratulations on completing your shawl, it’s beautiful. That photo is wonderful because it made me think it would work exactly like that that as a poncho – I don’t think I have really considered a poncho, at least not since I was 12!
