The other day we took N to the thrift store so he could put together a costume to wear to school on Halloween. He wandered off to look at the selection of costumes and I headed the other way to check out the yarn and home items. Tucked in behind the other bags I found a bag containing these 4 skeins of Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran (two are brown and two are a deep red). The price was a steal at $2.99 so I grabbed it. I have no idea what I’ll make with it. Maybe a striped stocking hat or a striped cowl.

What a great deal!! I wonder about buying yarn second hand. Have you had any problems with smells attached to the yarn?

I haven’t had a problem. I give it an extended stay in the freezer in a plastic bag just to be sure there are no critters in it. Someone suggested placing it in the truck of the car but it’s too cold for that now.

I love Debbie Bliss Cashmerino!!! I used to have a stash of baby weight and a few Aran, but it’s all depleted now. Sob. Enjoy your find!

I had the red once upon a time (depending on the actual colorway but it was a deep red). I used it for a sweater. Pills like crazy but it’s lovely 🙂

I have never found good yarn like that at a thrift store. I only saw once at a big one the cheap stuff.
