WIP Wednesday: Motivation- Where Are You?

What is wrong with me? I have zero motivation to work on the vest. I am interested in knitting. I put everything out in the morning with the plan to sit down and knit once I get a few chores done. Then nothing. Well, not nothing. Yesterday I played games on the iPad, played a little Pokémon Go, wrote a couple of emails, walked Myles, watered the plants inside (outside is looking a little dead), and after dinner took a walk with The Husband. It was so nice being outside with the breeze. It’s hot here. Maybe that’s the problem.

But today is another day. My knitting is all laid out waiting for me. Maybe I’ll have something knit related to report tomorrow. If you see my motivation would you send it this way.

It’s been too hot to knit for me too. I’m in Shropshire in the UK. Fortunately this past week the temps have dropped a little so I’ve managed to pick up the needles again and have actually got two WIP’s off the needles 😃 – two cardigans that I started way back in March. It also helps that we’re on summer school holidays here so lots of lovely knitting time 😍. I hope you get your knitting mojo back soon x

I have plenty to spare, but I could use a little donation of time. Maybe we can work something out? 😊
I sat outside under the awning yesterday afternoon and knit in a cotton blanket! Dinner was on the stove, and the temp was in the high 80s, but I was determined to get a few rows in. We are a nutty bunch, yes?

I hear you. I am working on a shawl that has small pieces, so the trouble is not in the heavy weight of wool. The project is interesting, but I wonder if it is too interesting, and my brain can’t handle it in the heat? I have a baby gift I need to do, I am hoping to sort out the yarn today and get it cast on. Then maybe I will knit more…

I have lots of knitting mojo and no talent, could we meet in the middle? I have been saying “I’ll pick that up just now” all morning this morning but have been sidetracked. Just sitting down to check my wordpress site as there’s a glitch on some widget or what have you, and then continue on my shawl. It’s so lush.

I have zero enthusiasm for any sort of hand work at present. No knitting or sewing.

I’m there with you. But I am forcing myself to sew since I have 2 items for BioGirl to get done. Tomorrow Hubster gets his nose fixed, so I am looking at 2 weeks of recovery where I just might barricade myself in my sewing room to avoid his moaning. LOL!

I’m blaming the heat for my lack of motivation!

I understand exactly! I keep hoping mine comes back as well, for the time being I’m treating myself as I would one of my children and say, “get it done girl!” and working on something everyday feel like it or not, sigh.

It is definitely the dog days of summer! Your last project was pretty deadline oriented, maybe you are recovering from that?

Don’t worry, there are worse knitters out there. Take me, for example. I didn’t knit anything. Instead, I cooked Thai food, ate it, and drank a bottle of white wine while playing Galaga over and over again on the Nintendo. I checked myself before things got out of hand.

  12. You’ve been going at it pretty hard for a while. You are just taking a little rest, and you’ll be back in the swing soon 🙂
