A Quick Story

This is N when we were on vacation.

I think I mentioned that we went back to the place we used to go every year when N was small. The first few years he was crazy about the windmill. Once he could talk he called it his windmill at his motel. It really was funny. I don’t know if he remembers that and he probably thought me odd when I asked him to stand right there so I could get a photo.

Do you have things like that in your life? Something unusual that became special.

  1. Yes! Definitely have things like that in our family. Some of them are constants for a while (first ice cream of the year at a seasonal stand which closed when I was in high school), and other things that persist. It’s nice having those things in your life 🙂

When my kids were growing up, we went to the county fair every year and hung around the barn where my father trained harness horses (trotters). This week, my older daughter and I will be returning to the fair (the 87th consecutive one for me, the 65th for Nancy) and will stand in front of what remains of the old barn to have our annual pictures taken.

Nope, we don’t seem to have a ritual we visit. We do hit the same beach every year, but there’s not a ritual photo or place we go back to.

Love this! Our ritual seem to be more holiday themed.

That was fun. No, I don’t think anything qualifies for your question especially since we moved out of the city.
