Knitting On Friday

As you read this I should be tucked into a comfy chair in my living room diligently knitting the last rows of the cowl. The yarn arrived yesterday later in the afternoon than the mail normally arrives so I spent some time after dinner winding it into a ball. The cowl is my last project for The Great Loopy Knitting Challenge.

Of course the photo above is not the cowl. It is the Easy Goes It shawl which really is going, um, easily. So far I find that the garter stitch rows are easy to remember, the stockinette rows came right at the time I needed something new and the mesh bit was just plain fun.

I particularly like the edges. I tend to knit my edge stitches a little bit tight which creates an edge without enough stretch. I don’t have that problem with either of these edges.

Well I’m looking forward to a rainy weekend that should allow for extra knitting. Have you got plans for your weekend? I hope you’ve got some crafting planned too.

Lovely! So glad it’s not all garter stitch!

  2. It is looking great! Sometimes you need a pattern that is mostly really easy, but not so much so that you lose interest. Beautiful work!

  3. Lovely knitting. Enjoy the weekend of crafty goodness. We should have sunny but cold weather, so I will be knitting for sure. 🙂

you are so funny! The new easy does it piece looks very nice – it looks like an addictive knit.

This weekend I am a passenger in a car on a ten hour trip to PA and ten hour trip home again, so there will be KNITTING. I wound lots of yarn this morning to make sure I have enough.

I love the perfect patterns out there, sounds like this one is one of those. I am back home doing graduation parties, dog cuts, my cut, and family visiting. Just wish I could have brought my machine with me!

Road trip this weekend, going north so should have enough light to knit this evening and then tomorrow, I hope! The shawl is really going quickly.

  8. I am hoping for rain this weekend too. I have two projects going and i am definitely planning on some summer wear knitting. I’ve got a cotton Tegna sweater going and I am so happy with how it’s turning out. Must knit faster!!

I’m reading you from my feed, so I’ve seen everything in reverse, from new to old. This was a great plan. Planning is what it is, I suppose!

I sewed today but am not happy about the pictures the husband took :O(. Will have to try another redo I guess tomorrow. I have a card I need to make tomorrow. My shawl has come to a temporary stop b/c I’m missing a stitch, damn it! I plan to frog the six rows of lace and restart it.
