That’s supposed to be a photo of the Emily vest but it’s still quite wet sitting on the blocking board. Maybe it will be dry later today.

I can’t believe we just had the first ice cream of the season yesterday. It was so crowded at Kimballs. See all the fuzzy people standing at the window. N had a sundae with malted milk ball ice cream. It was huge and he ate every bite. I got my usual coffee Oreo which I might regret if the caffeine kicks in at bedtime. The Husband had chocolate raspberry swirl.

I’ve knit 10 rows on the cowl and reached a peace with possibly running out of yarn. I’ll just order another skein if need be. I’ve put too much work into this project to skimp on it. Just coming to that decision eased the worry tremendously. Isn’t it funny how that works.

I get it with the worry about running out of yarn. When I started the Lichen top with a cotton/linen blend I’d found at Tuesday Morning, I fretted about having enough for the sleeves. I finally found two skeins available through an online store, and they turned out to be a perfect match (same dye lot). They even allowed me to screw up, which I blogged about. By the way, I seamed those extra sleeves together to make a poofy washcloth for my grandson’s bathtimes.

Another 10 rows down, AND fabulousness ice cream, that is a great day in my book. My mittens are in their bag, waiting for our road trip this week end, which I hope will mean a finish. 😄

  5. Coffee Oreo is one of my favorite flavors. Hope it didn’t keep you awake but – hey, you have enough yarn to finish!
