Sock In Progress

I pulled out my traveling project when I needed something knit. I haven’t done any knitting away from home since I started this sock. My waiting time in the car has changed. Now I’m waiting after it’s dark so there isn’t any knitting happening then. Over the last day or two I’ve made great progress getting the heel flap, heel turn and gusset decreases done. This really is my preferred sock pattern. I like a heel flap for both wear and fit. The Knit Picks Felici yarn is turning out to be a favorite too. I like the stripes. They’re fun to knit and pretty to look at.

I haven’t formed a sweater plan because I’m now distracted by socks. Once I’ve finished this pair I’ve got a plan for the next pair but that’s a different sock discussion for another day.

  2. The socks are BEAUTIFUL! Maybe you need a headlight for “in the dark” knitting! 😉

  5. I can relate to the “dark” knitting. I used to knit as my husband drove home, but now the only knitting time I get is on the ferry.

(I am here solely to offer advice, it appears.) Search Amazon for “headlamp”; they are also available at Home Depot-type stores and hunting/camping places. It will allow you to knit anywhere after dark. I have several 😉

I like those soft blues in that yarn. I’m going to pay more attention to heel fit now. While I like the afterthought heel I think it makes my socks shorter because of my high arches. It’s been a while since I’ve knitted the heel flap and I’m looking forward to doing it for my Harry socks.
