Randomly On Sunday

The paperwhites continue to impress. There are more flowers, three groupings at this point with more sprouts coming up from the bulbs. This is the best blooming paperwhites I’ve had in ages.

I’m knitting away diligently on Reyna. It continues to grow which has left me thinking about what I should cast on next. I’m considering the Sockhead Cowl or Sell Your Sole Socks. I have yarn all picked out for both so it’s really just a matter of digging the yarn out of the stash.

Yesterday I binge watched the final season of Broadchurch. I just love that show. I have enjoyed every season. It saddens me that it has come to an end. I am now searching Netflix for my next binge. Do you have a suggestion? I like a detailed crime drama for quality knitting/viewing time.

I’m torn about The Great American Baking Show. It was pulled off the air because of allegations of sexual misconduct against a judge. While I do not condone his alleged behavior I feel badly for the contestants and the viewers. I think a more proper way to handle this sort of thing is to air the show but cut ties with the judge in the future. During the show run a PSA about sexual abuse/misconduct in each episode. Take the opportunity to teach a lesson instead of punishing innocent people. What do you think?

    I agree. Leave the show on and make a point. Project runway is still going but the Weinstein name has been removed, more subtle but I noticed.

    I’m late to Netflix and enjoying The Crown. Broadchurch was a bit special.

    Interesting; yeah, why not leave the show on but get another famous judge? The Food Network has guest judges on all the time. I will have to check out that Broadchurch although I don’t know if I can watch BBC shows on my Roku. I’m bummed we don’t have the Hallmark channel.

    I think your solution is a good one. I think that we have to understand we won’t be able to fire ALL of the men who committed this heinous crime. We have to have a way to a.) punish them with some severity and b.) keep the world spinning and not punish others in the the process. And if we can tie it all into education so the problem is reduced, even better.

    (Filling up your comment box) Check ou:
    * Happy Valley on Netflix. It is another British crime show with excellent writing and acting, plus it has a female lead.
    * Shetland, another Brit series.
    * Midsomer Murders. A lightweight, cozy-type Brit mystery series.

    Your paperwhites are gorgeous! It must be nice to have something spring-like in the house. Just ordered Broadchurch and Happy Valley from the library. I didn’t hear about the scandal around the baking show (must have happened while I was away and wasn’t getting much news). I did record the first episode, but haven’t watched it yet. Maybe they are trying to edit the remaining shows to remove the judge and will show it at another time???
