Thrift Shop Find

I’m one of those people who rarely has their shit together. I tend to be running around at the last minute trying to throw things together or get things done. When I was at the thrift store I spotted this tiered serving piece that matches a set of Christmas dishes that my mother gave me wins ago. I only have service for 4 so the dishes haven’t gotten much use. We always had six for dinner. Even still I picked this up (along with 4 bread & butter plates) just because the price was so cheap. The serving piece isn’t in perfect condition, the screws were tightened too much so there are small cracks, but it will hold hors d’oeuvres or cookies. I plan to use the Christmas dishes this year and am pleased to have acquired more pieces for the set. Now if I could just get going on my Christmas shopping and planning.

A wonderful find! I love the Spode Christmas design, so timeless. My DH hunted serving pieces for our wedding China on EBay a few years ago, and picked up all sorts of stuff at a very reasonable price. This pattern is so famous, you might be able to pick up some more place settings that way if you want them. Your table will be beautiful with even four settings, though!

Girlfriend, I rarely have my ship totgetha too! But I’m determined to not be like that for Christmas as I didn’t craft any this year. I think UNIQLO will be my store for gifts this year.

You always find the best things at the thrift stores! Even better that it matches the dishes that your mom gave you – nice memories. Wait, what??? Christmas is coming???? I’m not ready to even think about it yet…

    Awesome find!

I have a set of Christmas dishes that I INSIST on getting out on Thanksgiving night as we put away all the turkey related things. That gives me a full month of using them as my everyday dishes.

But I haven’t got such a pretty serving piece.

    🙂
