Aegue is still being worked on. It’s such an easy mostly mindless knit that I’ve been able to grab a few rows here and there including waiting for N at physical therapy. I think this photo shows the color changes pretty well. I’m glad I did the purple first. It is the only non gray so it does belong at the end.
One of the drawbacks to grabbing a row here and there is the increased likelihood of making a mistake and not catching it. I accidentally knit (or maybe purled) two edge rows. It’s nothing serious and since this is for me I really don’t care. I’m just going to let it go.
Are you a knitter/crocheter who can let little mistakes go or are you a “I always rip and correct” kind of person? I am learning to let things go but the urge to go back and fix the error is strong.

For me it really depends how noticeable the mistake is. I know that feeling of having to rip and fix though! If it helps, I don’t notice anything in the photos:)

If I can’t notice it from 5 feet away, the mistake can stay…so long as it doesn’t cause the whole project to fall apart. It took a long time for me to get to that point; I used to obsess about every mistake!

It has to be quite an obvious mistake for me to undo it. It depends on how much it bugs me. Mostly little mistakes remind me that I’m human, they remind me that it’s the process, the rhythm, that’s important 🙂

I can’t live with a mistake because I look at my work and no matter how small the mistake just glares at me. I do, however, go to all lengths to avoid ripping it out. If I can fix the problem without undoing the whole piece I will do it that way with a crochet hook and just unraveling the necessary columns.

I usually make major mistakes and ripping is the only choice, but if it were a knit that should have been a pearl and it is not noticeable, I would leave it too! That shawl really looks like a foggy morning, beautiful color changes!

I usually fix mistakes, and like Tonymarkp, I can rip back a column then with a crochet hook put it back together. But I would not bother with the mistake you made, unless I keep on making it. Some mistakes I can live with, and that is one of them. 🙂

I loathe ripping out. I will often make the same “mistake’ a few rows along and claim it’s part of the pattern.

Like you, my tolerance for a mistake depends on whether the item otn is for me or for someone else. I am far more tolerant of errors in knitting for myself. If the thing is a gift or for a silent auction, it has to be as close to perfect as I can make it.

In everything I knit, there is a mistake. I think maybe it’s because I’m (emotionally) distracted at the moment. For a scarf, I messed up but I just changed my mind about how to end the scarf (and made a pouch to roll it into LOL). On a shawl, for my Nanna, it’s the first time working with lace. I’ve also been knitting while watching TV. I might have also missed some rows. Anyway, Nanna has seen the work in progress and said “I love it”. Another shawl/scarf thing, I forgot what row I was on. It’s not very noticable. I’m too lazy to rip it back. No one else will have one like it. 😀

Forgot to mention this … on a shawl I was knitting, I went to sleep unfortunately my hands kept knitting — just as you would think “what a mess” once all frogging was complete only 900 stitches in a lace pattern that project went into timeout never being seen again to this day — maybe some day

I’m really glad you went with the purple first, too. I missed out on getting to vote on that, but was hoping that you would go with the purple first. 🙂 I will try to fix mistakes if I catch them in time, but I am totally okay with leaving a mistake too (as long as it’s not a HUGE mistake).
