I finished the Entrelac Cap yesterday which completes my fall semester senior year of Loopy Academy. I added a few extra round of squares to make the hat slouchy and to meet the yardage requirement. This was my first time knitting entrelac. It wasn’t hard but towards the end I found myself “doing it backwards” but it didn’t alter the completed project. To be honest I’m not a fan of it. It was a little fiddly to do but mostly I don’t like the look. I like my knitting neat and orderly and this is all over the place and lumpy. I’m glad to have given it a try though. That’s what Loopy Academy is all about-trying things you wouldn’t do on your own and tackling a new skill.
The pattern is Entrelac Cap by Kathy Gometz. The yarn is Lorna’s Laces Sportmate in spats. The yarn is soft and a pleasure to knit with. The pattern is easy enough to follow and there are great videos on YouTube for seeing how entrelac works. I particularly like this knitting entrelac in the round one.
