Dayton is done! I am beyond thrilled with the way this sweater turned out. I knit the size 42 but played fast and loose with gauge. I didn’t knit a swatch people. None! I knew all along that could have bit me in the ass. I didn’t bother picking up new buttons since I had two that worked perfectly.
I knit the sweater according to the pattern except for the sleeves. I knit those a good inch shorter (maybe even two) than the pattern calls for. The pattern is fantastic. It has sizes for children, women and men. It’s well written and easy to follow.
Here is H modeling the sweater in her pajamas. She wasn’t very happy. She thinks the yarn is too scratchy. That’s good-it won’t disappear out of my dresser. I love the simple details this pullover has: a couple of purled stitches up the sides of the body creating a false seam, the rolled edge on the neck, sleeves and bottom, and the short rows at the back of the neck and bottom of the sweater. All these make for a wearable, unique but classic pullover.
The pattern is Dayton by Josee Paquin. The yarn is Cascade 220 in 9491 greystone heather. This is my third and final project for Camp Loopy.
I’ll be knitting this sweater again, if not for me then for a gift.
I love it! Its exactly what I’ve been wanting for myself. Thanks for the pattern name, I’ll check it out:)

good job! and glad it isn’t the perfect yarn for people to steal from you, lol. I think if that were mine I would not take it off much. It looks like the best kind of go with everything sweater!
