Netflix & Knitting

If there is a better way to spend an evening I haven’t found it yet. There are new documentaries on Netflix and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve watched one on Robert Kardashian (interesting) and one on Amelia Earhart (always interesting). They’re both fairly short (less than an hour) so somewhat thin on details but enjoyable just the same. They are distracting me while I knit the lace edge on the shawl. I might run out of gray yarn but I won’t worry about it. I’ve got things to watch.

Are you watching or listening to anything while you’re knitting/crocheting/crossstitching?

  1. I’ve just finished watching the new series of Orange is the New Black on Netflix. My hubby was away for two weeks and doesn’t like it, so perfect time for an episode a night and, although I found it a bit slow and a bit silly at times, I had enough distraction from my fair isle knitting to be perfectly entertained 🙂

  2. Gilmore Girls has been my latest Netflix & Knit show. Unfortunately, I realized yesterday I may have made an error in where I placed one of my pieces, and now I may have to un-weave ends on several pieces and frog them so I can frog the offending piece and fix the error. Oh well, it may be inspiration for my next blog post.

I just finished Shetland on Netflix, crime fighter on the Shetland Islands, loved it. Then I watched Father Brown, not the most stellar series, but an enjoyable light murder mystery. Wish I could say a lot of knitting went on, but not really.

We watched Monuments Men earlier this week and I was knitting. A good movie about searching for the art stolen by the Nazis.

Man, you are good! Lace knitting and watching Netflix? I have to knit simple stuff while just watching Gilmore Girls. I’m on season five now. I need to also finish up the audiobook of Caraval before it’s due.

Have you watched the documentary on Netflix called Yarn? It’s pretty good and about artistic expression around the world. I enjoyed it!

  9. Okay, this is weird, but would you believe I’m watching Nazi mega-weapons documentaries… that’s only because I already finished the Gilmore Girls. 🙂 I love Netflix to knit to.

I’ve been watching the reruns of This is Us, and on PBS Vera and the Coroner. Just watched the movie Patriots Day the other night too – it was interesting to learn of all the behind the scenes activity that was going on at that time.
