I put the stocking down for a bit of peaceful shawl knitting. I hadn’t even gotten through a row when I discovered I’d dropped a stitch about 8 rows back- a center make 1. Not an easy spot to fix or fudge. So I’ll be over here tinking back about 4000 stitches. This is going to take a while…

So much for the peaceful shawl knitting. Recently I got snagged on two double decreases for EZ’s adult surprise jacket because I apparently forgot to slip stitches over the k2tog. My solution was to just k2tog in a random spot. I suppose the increases can’t be fudged the same way. Thanks for reminding me to double increase with care.

I just cringed at the very thought for you. I once restarted a shawl just so I didn’t have to tink it.

Seriously, though, that sounds incredibly frustrating and hopefully you’ll get it right the second time around.

I can barely fathom tinking 4,000 stitches. I’d probably spend as much time as that would take trying to figure out a way NOT to have to tink that much. Onward!

im kind of impressed that you know the exact amount of stitches you have to re-do… i sometimes dont even know the exact amount of stitches I casted on….😊 but good luck!

OUCH! If it helps, last night I frogged my sweater sleeve and started over, not nearly 4000 stitches, but at least you aren’t alone.😢Crying with you!

oh no! Did you think about dropping just the concerned stitches back and working your way back up there with a crochet hook? Or would that be too complicated?

The biggest problem was that I dropped an M1 next to the center stitch. There was too big a chance I’d screw it up just dropping down. It’s all done now:)
