Yesterday The Husband, N, H, H’s friends, H’s friend’s mom and I went to the Fiber Festival of New England. Great fun was had. We laughed, we walked and shopped for hours and then we had lunch. It was a fantastic day. I’m afraid I was a neglectful blogger and didn’t take any photos of the humans, yarn booths or even lunch. I do have a photo of my tiny haul and some cute critter photos I’ll save for another day.
I looked at so much yarn. There were many, many things I liked, a lot, but each and every time I went to buy something that I’ve got a skein of at home guilt kicked in and I put it down and walked away. I didn’t buy a spindle, though H did and I didn’t try a wheel, H’s friend did. I practiced amazing restraint. I only bought the things I had to have. On the left is a skein of FiberStash Dyeworks Strong Toes Sock Yarn in Jailhouse Rock. This is a totally new to me dyer. The yarn was gorgeous! I pet it all and had a hard time deciding on just one skein. The grays really spoke to me. Go and look at that yarn. I think you’ll see something you like too. The center yarn is another new to me dyer, White Birch Fiber Arts. The tag line did it for all of us ” Friends don’t let friends craft with insipid yarn.” They have the most beautifully dyed self striping yarn. I had a hard time picking out the one that had to come home with me. It’s called pessimists’ rainbow. Again the gray got to me. The skein on the right is my repeat purchase. I knew long before heading to the festival that I was going to buy another skein of Good Karma Farms (warning: Facebook link!) Sox. I had bought a skein last year that I used to knit Miss Winkle and it was fabulous.
I can’t wait until next year so we can go again. I’ve already put the dates on my calendar.
That middle skein looks so fun!

I am getting that guilt feeling too when I am in yarn shops. So I try to stay out of them!!! But I will allow pattern purchases when I know I have yarn on hand that will work with them. All the yarns are lovely, but that blue green is gorgeous!

Gorgeous. And as always, the blue is the one that will catch my eye. Looks so soft and pretty. 🙂

Glad you had a fun day! I’m so impressed by your restraint – how could you only buy 3 skeins of yarn??!! 🙂 I can’t wait to see the middle yarn knit up. Only 362 days until the next Fiber Festival!

Sounds like loads of fun! Lovely yarn, but of course I love the Good Karma Farm the best. What is the colorway?

There is no color name on the tag sadly.
